Digital Projects Intern, Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage

During the summer of 2013, I worked an internship for academic credit as a Digital Projects Intern at the Ralph Rinzler Archives and Collections. I worked with the Moses and Frances Asch Collection scanning and describing materials using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge, utilized research when appropriate. I helped with the enhancement of intellectual control through the use of Archivist Toolkit and the collection’s EAD finding aid, and additionally helped develop spreadsheets using Steady schema.

Intern, Smithsonian Institution Archives

This was an alternative spring break internship in 2013 through a program offered by the University of Michigan’s School of Information. I optimized PDFs of digitized content for the SIA’s Fieldbook Project, which included diaries belonging to the David Crockett Graham Papers while performing quality assurance, utilizing access masters and excel spreadsheets, transferring images for better collection access, and adding optimized PDF file path names into XML finding aids.
